Biodegradable Takeaway Cups Release More Microplastics Than Fossil-Based Cups

New research from the University of Queensland reveals that single-use biodegradable (PLA-lined) takeaway cups release significantly more microplastic particles than fossil-based (PE-lined) cups when exposed to hot liquids.
