AfghanistanAfghanistan-Pakistan Border Clashes Reported
Reports indicate exchanges of fire between Pakistani and Afghan forces along their shared border in the Paktika province and Lower South Waziristan region.
Background
The Afghanistan-Pakistan border has long been a flashpoint due to an undemarcated Durand Line, contested by successive Afghan governments. Tensions are exacerbated by cross-border militant activity and the presence of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, leading to frequent skirmishes between the two nations' forces.
