TürkiyeTurkish media publishes new photos of F-35 jets destined for Erdogan
Turkish media is publishing new photos of F-35 jets, marked with Turkish flag emblems, that have been waiting for delivery since 2019 and are currently parked at a US Air Force Base in California.
Background
Turkey's removal from the F-35 fighter jet program by the United States in 2019 followed its acquisition of Russian S-400 missile defense systems. This decision strained relations between the two NATO allies, with Turkey asserting its right to choose defense systems and the US citing security concerns regarding the F-35 technology.
