Taliban infighting and resistance in Afghanistan's Badakhshan Province

Heavy fighting has erupted in Afghanistan's Badakhshan Province between Taliban forces and fighters loyal to a former senior Taliban figure, Juma Khan Fateh, over control of local gold mining operations, leading to casualties and the assassination of the Faizabad mayor.
